How many account types are available?

We have 4 types of account as follows:

A.      Private Seller Account

B.      Agent Account.

C.      Dealer Account.

D.      Merchant Account.


What is Private Seller Account?

This basic type of account is open for any individual/non-commercial seller to sell their own car or car related products in our Marketplace. An individual user can have a maximum of 3 free listing at the same time. The listings may be a mixture of vehicle or automotive related items, and the condition of the item must be used. Private user is not allowed to list new items.


What is Agent Account?

This account is recommended for sales agent representing or attached to dealership. Sales agent is eligible to list new or used car for sale, with no listing limitation.


What is Dealer Account?

This account type provides new and used car dealer an opportunity to exhibit their vehicles on this virtual showroom.


What is Merchant Account?

This account is catered for automotive related products seller/servicer, enable seller to showcase unlimited products on Marketplace.


Listings, Fees and Credits


How much does it cost to sign up?

There is no sign up fee to join Johorcars.com!

Listing your products is free, there are no hidden costs charged. You only pay when you opt for enhanced features which essentially serve your needs, at a very affordable price.


What are the available types of Ad?

We offer FREE Standard Ad as well as Featured Ad. 


What is Featured Ad? 

Featured Ads are a pay alternative, where you could make your items stand out among others.

If you believe your item deserves a better attention, opt for our featured Ad, choose Silver Ad or even upgrade to Gold Ad.

These 2 types of ad enable you to place your ad at an easily discoverable spot, give you priority placement above all standard ads. Gold Ad could even ensure a maximum exposure which is out to catch everyone's eye for  5 full days.

How long will my Ad last?

The free standard ad stays active until you remove it.  A Silver Ad lasts a good 60 days and the Gold Ad will enjoy prominent exposure for 5 days.

How do I post a Silver Ad?

You will be given an option to choose between Standard or Silver Ad when placing your ad. Just select the Silver Ad tab when you are on the create ad page. Upon completion and submission of the ad, credit will be deducted from your account.

Your ad will be verified and approved normally within 12 hours to 1 business day if you are not a Verified Member.


How do I post a Gold Ad?

Once your standard or silver ad gone live, you have the option to upgrade to Gold ad. Remember, you could only upgrade to Gold Ad after you have an ad listed. Do bear in mind that, once the duration of Gold Ad ended, your ad will automatically revert back to its original listing.

For example, If you upgraded to Gold Ad from Standard Ad, after the 5-day ad period ended, your ad will revert back to the standard ad and move down the list as new ads are placed. The same concept applies to Silver Ad if you were to upgrade from Silver Ad.

* In case there are multiple cars go for a Gold Ad slot, each will be shown on a rotational basis.


What is "Bump"?

For a small fee, this feature allows your Ad to move to the top of the listings of its category from its current position. Being at the top position, a bumped ad has greater visibility and a higher chance of attracting potential buyers.


How to become a Verified Member?

Just subscribe to our membership and your status will be automatically upgraded to "Verified Member"! Getting verified will make you more trustworthy to buyers, on top of that you will receive a verified badge in your profile, which certainly produced a more significant attention. 

To apply for a verified member, pre-scan your document and save in computer, login to your account and click "Membership", upload your scanned copy, follow the rest of the instructions and submit to us, our staff will do the verification check .

Why should I sign up for Membership?

We would recommend user signing up for membership to enjoy more benefits and essential features to enhance business visibility. Login for more information.


How do I make payment for my membership?

Currently you are able to make payment by bank deposit into our account. There are instructions on the membership page to guide you through the process. 


Can I get a refund if I cancel my membership?

When a member requests the termination, Membership Fees are not refundable.


Can I get a refund if I withdraw from the paid feature ads?

Featured Listing Fees are non-refundable.

We advise you to use the entire stored credit amount before the expiry date as any unused credit, regardless of amount, is neither refundable nor transferable.

However the credit validity date can be extended for another 180 days just by topping up any amount available. 


How long is the validity period of Credits purchased?  

The credits purchased valid 180 days (about half a year) from the date of purchase.  But if there are new credits purchased thereafter, the expiry date of total credits purchased will be automatically extended 180 days from the latest date of purchase.

General Marketplace Questions


What is Marketplace?

The Marketplace is a feature of Johorcars.com that allows sellers to showcase their automotive related product/service.  


What are the requirements to setup a merchant account?

Merchant must own a physical store location within Johor state, enable buyer to inspect or check the products/services personally.


How to become a Marketplace Seller?

For Eligible Merchant:

Create a Johorcars.com Merchant account by completing the registration form.

Once your account is setup and accepted,you are ready to list your products/services for FREE!

For Private Seller:

Private sellers are able to list USED items for sale in Marketplace. Currently private users are limited to list a total of 3 items (including used car listing).


What are the Guidelines for Posting and Receiving Approval for Marketplace Listing?

  1. You must register as user.
  2. Your listing should include clear contact.
  3. Your product and service must be of quality and priced reasonably.
  4. Choose the marketplace category that describes your product/service and create your ad.
  5. Once you have created your ad, it will go into a moderation queue. Wait patiently for the approval, please allow 1 to 2 business day for processing.
  6. If you do not see your listing after 2 business day, assume that your listing has been denied. We do not inform and give reasons for denied posting. But you could contact our customer service for further inquiries. 

However, a verified Merchant will have the privilege to have their ad up in the listing without waiting!

As a marketplace seller, it is your responsibility to ensure that your inventory database is updated frequently.


General FAQ


How do I set up a password?

When you register online, you will fill in your login email address and your password. You can keep and use the initial password or you can change it at any time from within your account. If you choose to change it, you can use a word or a series of letters and numbers. The password is case sensitive and must contain at least 6 characters. They can be any combination of upper and lower case.


What if I forget my password?

If you forget your account password, you can request that a new password be generated and emailed to you automatically. Once you receive the new password, you can either keep and use it or change it within your account.

To reset your password, click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page and follow the instructions. A new password will be sent to your email address within a few minutes of submitting your request.


How do I edit/upgrade/bump my ad?

Login to your account using your email and password.

Under MY ADS, there are "Upgrade", "Edit" and "Bump" options.

Choose the action you want and click on it.

If you choose to edit, once you are finished reviewing your ad, click PUBLISH.

After completing this process your edited ad may take up to approximately 1 to 2 working day to update online.

Please note:

Upgrade and Bump features required use of credits. 


How do I remove my ad?

Login to your account using your email and password.

Under MY ADS, check the box of the ad that you want to remove, then click "Delete Selected".

Please note: 

If you choose to remove your ad, your ad will be removed from the site immediately and permanently.


What kind of image format and size do I need?

We accept the following file types: .jpg, .gif and.png. Jpg file is most recommended.

Digital cameras or even cell phone camera available today produce large images. We suggest that your image files should be reduced to 2 megabyte or less, as any size larger than this will be declined. Click here for help on resizing image.

They should also be reduced in size to less than 2500 pixels x 2500 pixels.  In order to produce a clear image,   your images should be no smaller than 400 pixels wide.


How can potential buyers contact me?

Your contact information will be shown on your listing, users can also click on the "Enquiry" link located in the detail page of your posting to contact you. An email will be sent to you with their inquiry and the user will only see your email address if you choose to respond.


What are the working hours of Johorcars.com?

Our working hours are from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
